By booking a coaching session with me via Calendly, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

The coaching session. The coaching session will take place via Zoom, and we may share information before and after the session via Calendly, via email, and/or via shared documents on Google Drive (Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.).

Expectations. You can expect me to be honest and direct, asking open questions and introducing you to techniques to help you navigate this phase in your personal and professional life with clarity and purpose. I will engage with our work with focus, honesty, openness, and commitment, and I expect you to do the same, and to tell me if you feel unable to. Any process of change can be uncomfortable or frustrating at times, but these feelings will be part of what we explore together. Coaching offers no guarantee of success, but I will do all I can to tailor the coaching session to your needs and ambitions as I understand them. The reason I am offering coaching is to help you articulate and meet your goals for your career and your life, so please tell me if you feel that isn’t happening.

My qualifications. I am an EMCC accredited coach at Senior Practitioner Level and I engage in regular coaching supervision with a qualified supervisor. My doctoral qualification is a DPhil (PhD) in German literature, and I have spent more than ten years conducting research on the psychological effects of reading and on the nature and treatment of eating disorders and other mental health conditions. I have extensive experience designing and providing writing, career, and welfare support for students and researchers at the University of Oxford and other higher education institutions. Since 2018 I have offered individual coaching for eating disorder recovery and since 2019 for professional development.

For educational and informational purposes only. The information and techniques I will share with you are for educational and informational purposes only. I make them available to you as self-help tools for your own use.

Your personal responsibility. I will always try to provide coaching support to you with reasonable care and skill, and to be clear and accurate in all the information I communicate to you. I make every effort to provide you with accurate and up-to-date information, but much of the information is based on scientific research, which is constantly evolving. In the event that you use the information provided by me, I assume no responsibility. You acknowledge that you are participating voluntarily in the coaching session, and that you alone are solely and personally responsible for your results. You acknowledge that you take full responsibility for your life, career, health, and wellbeing. You commit to providing me with all relevant information, and to working proactively with other relevant professionals, as needed to allow me to help you effectively.

Protecting your data. I understand that the coaching session involves discussion of your private information, and I take the privacy of your data very seriously. I will not disclose without reasonable or lawful justification any confidential information that you share with me. Please read the “Privacy policy” here for full details of how I protect your data.

Intellectual property. The information I provide to you is solely for your own personal use. You agree not to record the session, and not to upload or otherwise disseminate publicly any materials I create for you, without explicit written consent from me. If you do breach this clause or infringe any of my intellectual property rights, I reserve the right not to work with you in future, and you will forfeit any remaining booked sessions. I may also pursue claims for any damages incurred as a result of this breach.

External links. I may sometimes provide references or links to information, opinions, advice, programmes, services, or products made available by other individuals, websites, or companies. If I do so, I offer the references or links for your information, without endorsement or recommendation.

Release of claims. I will not be held responsible in any way for the information that you request or receive from me. In no event will I be liable to any party for any direct, indirect, special, incidental, equitable, or consequential damages for any use of or reliance on this programme or any other communications, including, without limitation, any lost profits, personal or business interruptions, personal injuries, accidents, misapplication of information or any other loss, malady, disease, or difficulty, or otherwise, even if I am expressly advised of the possibility of such damages or difficulties.

Scheduling and payment. You may select a session time and duration that is convenient to you, and you agree to pay the stated fee in order to secure your session booking.

Cancellation. You can reschedule the session to another available date and time as long as you do so more than 48 hours before the original starting time. If you do not attend the session or you cancel within 48 hours of the scheduled time, the session will be charged in full. If I have to cancel the session at any time, you will receive a full refund of any fee paid, as well as the option to rebook as soon as I am able to.

Jurisdiction and governing law. The coaching programme is delivered from the United Kingdom, and this contract is governed under UK law and jurisdiction. This means that your rights are protected by the 2015 Consumer Rights Act, including its provisions for cases where services may be provided without reasonable care and skill. It also means that any disputes will be handled exclusively in UK courts and any claims must be pursued in the UK.

  • you have had the opportunity to ask questions;
  • you are satisfied that you understand the information provided;
  • you understand that this contract supersedes and replaces any prior agreements between us;
